slow computer and crashig

can any body help me with my computer it is getting slower ana slower downloading pages and keeps freezing up. i have been told i can wipe everthing off the computer and reload it with windows xp which would get rid of any trojan horses i have would this be a good idea?

For your internet problem:

In internet explorer go to tools and then cick delete browsing history and clear tompory internet file's

In mozzila firefox go to tools and then click clear my private data. and clear cache and cookies.

If that does not fix the broblem try unplugging you modem/router for a while and plug it bac in

If you have got a router there is normaly a reset switch on the back if you press that it should help speed it up.

well if you have windows xp i would recomend that you get rid off it and install linux like ubuntu 7.10 iif there is a program you realy need then get a virtual machine program and run windows in virtual there is a post here how to do that

Try using an Anti-Virus. It may remove some of the laggy-ness.

It depends if they already have 1 or 2gb of ram then them might have a virus as they shouldn't need much more ram than that.

i think u should try using BART (Bootable Antivirus and Recovery blablabla) from avast.. its not free, but its also great..

theres another solution. boot your pc in safe mode and try running antispyware and antiviruses while in safemode...

and maybe you got a lot of background processes?

Well I nice new fresh clean install always dose the trick just rember to back everything you need up and then when your restore then check then for Viruses

Well here are the options:
1. Run an anti-virus and spyware check and run CCleaner for useless programs and files (Make sure it is the free one)
2. If this has happened more than once and there is no solution make sure you backup the important files to a cd or a flash drive. After that there probably is a cd that boots up your computer to its original form. (The way you bought it.) If you don't have that cd then ignore number 2.
3. If all fails get a new computer >.>

All I can say is, download avg, run a scan, then download spybot search and destroy, and run that scan. I use these all the time, and have removed some viruses.
