Photoshop is probably the most powerful and high-quality image manipulator out there. I have used it a lot, and now that Macromedia has been bought out by them, Adobe also has Flash.

I do think that Paint.NET is still a great editor for those who want a free product, and I use the GIMP quite a bit because it's open source.

I personally use Photoshop. I used to have GIMP, and that was awesome, but now since I have CS3 Extended, I have absolutley no reason to be using GIMP.

Overall, I would say That Gimp's UI is much better, but the capabilities with photoshop are just amazing.

For people who like to use photoshop but can not afford the high costs there is a free version of photoshop here: https://www.photoshop.com/express/landing.html. (You may have to put that you are in the US even if you are not) I am not sure what features this has included.

Does anyone know a good image editor that works with windows 98? Paint.NEW doesnt work and Gimp requires a GTK that I cant install. Photoshop isnt compatible and the exress thing doesnt work well with windows 98.
