100Mbps BroadBand

Postby Daniel on Sun Sep 28, 2008 10:17 am

It is projected that as many as 10 million homes across the country (UK) will gain access to fibre-optic broadband by as early as 2012, BT have a £1.5bn investment. BT have claimed that customers will be able to receive broadband speeds of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps). BT said that the fibre-optic broadband service is already available to more than 120,000 business and this technology could eventually allow people to access the Internet at 1,000 mpbs. If this technology is successful it would make the UK the "World super-league" for broadband!

Most towns in my area in america have fiber-optic connections. I do not know if we get that fast of speed, but we do get some fast speeds through the fiber-optic system.
